At 42 Dimensions Artwork, I get by with a little help from my friends.
I pride myself in my work, but my work is not truly mine. It is the result of collaborative efforts of all types- whether it be friends calling me up with ideas, other brands looking to do a creative collab, or the individuals I depend on for unique materials, my work has my own handiwork as well as the tireless efforts of others all over it. This is the partnership dimension- and it’s the dimension closest to my heart. <3
Meet John Rhoads.
Behind many of my pieces is a shared appreciation for giving forgotten materials a second life. John Rhoads is a Maryland local, collector, and purveyor of unique reclaimed lumber, salvaged cuts, and one-of-a-kind wood pieces with their own character and history. Rather than allowing beautiful materials to go unused, John searches for interesting woods with creative potential. His eye for unique materials has played a major role in inspiring the direction of my work and has heavily contributed to the creativity behind the Baltimore Bizarre Dimension collection. Want to see some of the lumber John currently has available? It’s coming soon!
In addition to providing distinctive materials for artists and makers, John is the owner and operator of The Cactus Crazy Company and creates his own line of Backyard Burn Boxes — handmade wooden boxes designed for one-time outdoor fires. Each box features its own decorative element, transforming an ordinary campfire into a memorable experience. Check out the Cactus Crazy Dimension of my shop to get one now!
John’s passion for craftsmanship, repurposing, and seeing beauty in overlooked materials perfectly aligns with the spirit of my artwork. His contributions have helped bring new ideas, unexpected materials, and a little extra magic into 42 Dimensions Artwork, and I can't recommend him highly enough. if you’re in the Maryland area and looking for unique lumber or a campfire like no other, look no further than the John Rhoads dimension.
Heather and I have been friends since we were kids, and even though life has taken us to different corners of the country, we've never stopped inspiring each other. We share the same creative curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit, and it’s not uncommon for us to bounce ideas off eachother- sometimes for hours.
The face behind Heather Jam, she's an incredibly knowledgeable canning, foraging, horticulture, and native plant species expert based in Kentucky. Whether she's identifying wild edibles, preserving the season's harvest, or sharing her passion for sustainable growing, Heather brings an incredible depth of knowledge to everything she creates. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and it's impossible not to learn something every time you talk with her.
This certainly won't be the last time you'll see her around 42 Dimensions. In fact, we're already cooking up a collaboration that I'm excited about. I can't share all the details just yet... but let's just say Heather's expertise may be making its way into a very limited batch of handcrafted jams that you'll only be able to find here. Keep an eye on this space—you won't want to miss what’s next!
